About This Alto Piemonte Wine Tour
Discover another side of Nebbiolo on a three-day journey through the historic wine territories of Alto Piemonte.
Far north of the Langhe, vineyards extend across the hills between the provinces of Novara and Vercelli, with Monte Rosa and the Alpine valleys influencing the climate and identity of the wines.
The itinerary connects Ghemme DOCG, Boca DOC and Gattinara DOCG, three neighbouring denominations that offer different interpretations of Nebbiolo and the distinctive soils of northern Piemonte.
One selected winery experience is planned in each territory, creating a journey designed around comparison rather than repetition.

Nebbiolo beneath Monte Rosa
Alto Piemonte is a broad mosaic of historic wine denominations extending across the provinces of Novara, Vercelli, Biella and Verbano-Cusio-Ossola.
Nebbiolo provides the common thread, but differences in altitude, exposure, geological origin and local wine traditions give each territory its own identity.
Ghemme and Gattinara are the two DOCG denominations protected by the Consorzio Tutela Nebbioli Alto Piemonte, while Boca belongs to the historic DOC appellations of the region.
Travelling between the three allows you to experience how Nebbiolo changes over relatively short distances and why Alto Piemonte deserves to be explored as a wine region in its own right.

Arrival in Alto Piemonte. Begin the journey in the hills of the Novara area and continue towards Ghemme.
Ghemme. Discover the landscape surrounding this historic wine town and its vineyards, with the Alpine profile of Monte Rosa forming the backdrop to the territory.
First winery experience. Visit a selected Ghemme producer and discover the cellar, vineyards, local wine traditions and the role of Nebbiolo in the denomination.
Guided tasting. Taste a selected range of wines with a focus on Ghemme DOCG and other wines produced by the estate.
Evening. Dinner is free, allowing you to choose your preferred restaurant and enjoy the evening independently.
Overnight stay in a selected hotel in the Ghemme, Novara or surrounding area.
Day 2
Boca DOC

Breakfast. Begin the day at the hotel before travelling north towards the hills of Boca.
Boca wine territory. Discover a smaller and more intimate wine landscape where vineyards alternate with woods and hills at the foothills of the Alps.
Included lunch. Enjoy the first included lunch of the journey with dishes inspired by local and regional cuisine.
Second winery experience. Visit a selected Boca producer and discover the history, vineyards and winemaking traditions of this distinctive Alto Piemonte denomination.
Guided tasting. Taste Boca DOC and selected wines from the estate, comparing them with the Ghemme wines experienced on the previous day.
Evening. Dinner is free.
Overnight stay in a selected hotel positioned according to the final route towards Gattinara.
Day 3
Gattinara DOCG

Show Day 3 Details
Breakfast and departure. Leave the hotel and continue towards Gattinara in the province of Vercelli.
Gattinara. Discover the vineyard landscape surrounding one of Alto Piemonte’s two DOCG denominations.
Third winery experience. Visit a selected Gattinara producer and learn about the territory, vineyard sites, cellar philosophy and the local interpretation of Nebbiolo.
Guided tasting. Taste a selected range of wines with a focus on Gattinara DOCG and compare its personality with the Ghemme and Boca wines tasted during the previous days.
Included lunch. Enjoy the second included lunch of the journey, completing the experience with the flavours of northern Piemonte.
End of the tour. The organised journey concludes after lunch. Self-drive guests can continue independently, while guests travelling with private transfers will continue to the agreed final drop-off location.
Accommodation
The journey includes two nights in selected hotels with breakfast on Days 2 and 3.
Accommodation is selected according to availability and the final itinerary, with locations chosen to create a practical progression from Ghemme through Boca to Gattinara.
The final hotels and room category will be confirmed in your personalised proposal.

Two lunches are included during the journey, planned to complement the wine experiences with an introduction to the cuisine of northern Piemonte.
